Plant Accountant - WDP - Red Deer Alberta

POSITION OVERVIEW

The primary role of the Plant Accountant is to provide the Plant Manager and Management Team with updated information that assists in controlling actual manufacturing costs within the Company. The Plant Accountant will do this by assembling, analyzing, and reporting data that assists in determining the costs of business activity such as production, labour, inventory variable and fixed costs. Working closely with the production areas, the Plant Accountant’s main focus will be on analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing reports comparing budgeted costs to actual production costs and tracking and updating of plant KPI’s.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA or CA) or working through the CPA program
• 3 - 5 years cost accounting experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP & MS Office Applications – proficient using Pivot Tables & V-Lookups
