Plant Breeding Technician

Description:

Assists Breeders in performing a variety of routine or repetitive technical duties in the office, greenhouses and field.

• Provides assistance to Breeders and Breeding Lead in conducting day to day activities in greenhouses and open field including, but not limited to sowing seeds, watering seedlings, transplanting seedlings, pollinations, harvesting, deseeding, cleaning seeds
• Gives instructions to third-party laborers to conduct the above-mentioned tasks safely, accurately, and efficiently.
• Monitors plant conditions, growth stages, and diseases, reports the status to breeders, and helps breeders to take necessary actions as needed. May take pictures as required for efficient communications.
• Provides support and direction to other departments and third-party laborers as needed.
• Assists other breeding programs as directed.
• Completed other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred
