Description:

Robert Half has partnered with a very reputable and long-standing manufacturer to hire their next Financial Controller! This will be the top person in accounting & finance based locally and will report to an oversees parent, overseeing a small team. We are looking for someone that is able to be in the office everyday to help build relationships, manage the team, and drive efficiencies. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Controller to join our reputable and stable organization! As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing and handling all financial aspects of our manufacturing operations to include accounting and finance, costing, financial reporting, budgeting, improving operations, and more! You will work closely with the operations team and executive leadership to analyze costs, monitor inventory, and ensure efficient utilization of resources. Your expertise in financial analysis and manufacturing processes will be instrumental in driving cost-effective operations!

Responsibilities:

Prepare and present regular financial reports, including variance analysis, key performance indicators, and production metrics.
Provide insights and recommendations to management on improving manufacturing efficiency and profitability.
Collaborate with management to develop budgets and financial targets for the manufacturing department.
Develop and maintain analyses and metrics to track performance against established targets.
Conduct regular financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize operational efficiency.
Cost Control and Optimization: Monitor manufacturing costs, including direct labor, material, and overhead expenses. Identify areas of cost overruns. Implement cost control measures and track the effectiveness of cost-saving initiatives.
Conduct periodic inventory audits and reconcile any discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, industry standards, and internal control procedures.
Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, improve productivity, and reduce costs.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of operational excellence.

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or other business related field
  • CPA/MBA preferred (not required)
  • Manufacturing Industry experience REQUIRED (inventory, costing, etc)
  • Strong knowledge & experience in cost accounting
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years as a Controller preferred
  • Adeptness in Month-end Close Activities
  • Budgeting & forecasting experience preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
  • Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the “why”
  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
