Description:
OVERVIEW
A growing manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Plant Controller to oversee financial operations, reporting, and analysis at the plant level. This hands-on role requires a proactive, detail-oriented leader to manage accounting functions, support operational decision-making, and ensure compliance with financial standards.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
- OR Associate’s degree in Accounting or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Strong ability to maintain confidential information.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to file and maintain accurate records and reports.
- Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses required when working in production areas.
- Basic computer literacy and data entry experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with procedural standards.
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to forecast future revenues and expenses.
- Budgeting and Cost Management:
- Develop, maintain, and analyze departmental budgets, creating periodic reports to compare budgeted costs against actual results.
- Calculate machine hour rates, including both fixed and variable costs.
- Management Reporting:
- Prepare and deliver management reports, including financial statements.
- Create graphs and visual tools to monitor run rates, set-ups, and production efficiencies.
- Operational Analysis:
- Assist in the development of the annual budget.
- Collaborate with Supervisors and the General Manager to review actual spending versus budgeted amounts.
- Provide explanations for budget variances and analyze capital projects.
- Review and assess material, labor, and budget content.
- Inventory Oversight:
- Identify and resolve inventory issues, including scrap, shrinkage, obsolescence, and valuation concerns.
- Leadership and Support:
- Supervise accounting staff, including Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.
- Provide backup support for accounting staff during vacations or absences.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations and financial integrity.
