Description:

OVERVIEW

A growing manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Plant Controller to oversee financial operations, reporting, and analysis at the plant level. This hands-on role requires a proactive, detail-oriented leader to manage accounting functions, support operational decision-making, and ensure compliance with financial standards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
  • OR Associate’s degree in Accounting or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to file and maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses required when working in production areas.
  • Basic computer literacy and data entry experience.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with procedural standards.
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to forecast future revenues and expenses.
  • Budgeting and Cost Management:
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze departmental budgets, creating periodic reports to compare budgeted costs against actual results.
  • Calculate machine hour rates, including both fixed and variable costs.
  • Management Reporting:
  • Prepare and deliver management reports, including financial statements.
  • Create graphs and visual tools to monitor run rates, set-ups, and production efficiencies.
  • Operational Analysis:
  • Assist in the development of the annual budget.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors and the General Manager to review actual spending versus budgeted amounts.
  • Provide explanations for budget variances and analyze capital projects.
  • Review and assess material, labor, and budget content.
  • Inventory Oversight:
  • Identify and resolve inventory issues, including scrap, shrinkage, obsolescence, and valuation concerns.
  • Leadership and Support:
  • Supervise accounting staff, including Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.
  • Provide backup support for accounting staff during vacations or absences.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations and financial integrity.
