TITLE: PLANT ENGINEER - PROCESS/ PROJECT

We are looking for someone to work in the plant on process and project engineering activities. This person will assist with process safety and management of change. This will include process improvements, optimization and modifications, new project development and implementation, preparing capital projects, and troubleshooting existing process problems using Lean techniques. This position reports to the Brantford Plant Manager.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Engineering degree, Mechanical or Chemical or appropriate subject.
- Excellent English language capability, verbal, written and reading.
- 5-7+ years (technical) experience in Process Engineering and/or Project Engineering
- Strong background in Continuous Improvement, proven track record.
- Capital Project Support experience, together with Chemical Process Development Experience.
- Team Leadership advantage.
- Global travelling capability for collaboration and occasion meeting requirements
Responsibilities:
- Follow all EHSQ requirements
- Coordinate/assist aspects of process safety, including:
- Management of change (MOC) process
- Process hazard analysis (PHA) and risk assessment
- Steward process safety and MOC action items to completion
- Audit process safety-related policies and systems
- Conduct pre-start up safety reviews
- Investigation and resolution of process incidents
- Work closely with plant personnel to optimize plant processes
- Collaborate with plant management on capital projects to ensure safe, proper process design and equipment specification
- Manage capital investment projects
- Collaborate with sourcing on procurement activities.
- Assist with creation of SOP’s for new and existing equipment and processes as needed
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing and maintenance
- Drive continuous improvement of plant manufacturing processes and systems
- Assist with creation of SOP’s for new and existing equipment and processes as needed.
- Maintain plant drawings, equipment & instrument indexes, etc.
