Description:
TITLE:
Plant & Equipment Engineer
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Plant and Equipment Engineer to manage and integrate the specialist functional requirements for a diverse range of large mechanical equipment for a major defence project. This critical role is integral to ensuring the seamless
integration of complex production & maintenance-oriented machinery into the base building design.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate engineering field (or a related discipline);
- Significant experience within projects and industries involving large complex plant and equipment, such as mining, water, gas or defence.
- Demonstrable experience in integrating complex machinery into base building designs, including spatial, structural, and utility considerations.
- Experience and interest in value engineering, delivering fit for purpose solutions to the customer
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to address challenges efficiently.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder and design management skills in multidisciplined environments, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Candidates must hold Australian Citizenship and to have the ability to obtain defence clearance.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Management and integration of functional requirements for large mechanical equipment to be incorporated into the project.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, mechanical, and structural engineers, to incorporate equipment into the project, across both of temporary and permanent works.
- Coordinate the design and specification of ancillary systems such as gases, power, and utilities to meet equipment and operational needs.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and performance validation of mechanical plant systems to meet project timelines and quality standards.
- Work closely with project managers, engineering, and stakeholders to align equipment design and placement with overall project objectives.
- Identify and address technical challenges during the design and implementation phases, proposing innovative solutions where required.
- Maintain clear and regular communication with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective decision-making.
