Salary Range - $105,000 - $120,000

SUMMARY:

The Plant Manager is accountable for the leadership, development & management of all functions of the gravel extraction and processing as well as the quarry rock extraction and processing. The Plant Manager will ensure appropriate staffing and oversee safe production to enable plant productivity and maintenance in an efficient manner, while producing quality products for clients. The primary focus will be on safety and optimizing available reserves and capital employed while maximizing productivity at the lowest cost of production.
This is a full time, salaried opportunity. The incumbent would be expected to relocate to Earl Cove/Egmont/Sechelt area.

  • Compliance with Safety, Land and Environment Audits and procedures
  • Drill and Blast Activities
  • Shipping Activities (barge loading)
  • Production and inventory management
  • Quality control management
  • Mobile and fixed maintenance
  • Mine planning and site development
  • Extra Mile initiative development
  • Effectively drive and seek cost improvement opportunities
  • Monthly operations forecast
  • Innovation and continuous improvement to plant performance
  • Development of succession ready employees

EDUCATION:

  • Grade 12 diploma and relevant post-secondary education

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET:

  • 10+ years of proven operational and supervisory experience preferred
  • Proven and sound knowledge of aggregate industry
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Able to analyze financial statements and make recommendations
  • Strong communication, negotiation and change management skills
  • 10+ years of prior work experience in unionized environment
  • Ability to foster and grow a strong safety culture
  • High energy strong leader with ability to influence high performing teams
  • Independent thinker
  • High capacity of working under pressure and stress
