WesTrac is seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our General Construction Workshop based at our head office in Tomago. The successful applicant will lead a workshop crew focusing on customer satisfaction, flat rate times, technician productivity, efficiency, safety, workshop housekeeping and job quality. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will lead the team coordinating maintenance and repairs on Micro to Mid-sized Excavators, Graders, Skid-steers, Track Type Tractors, Backhoes, Loaders.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Certificate III Heavy Vehicle / Mobile Plant qualification
  • Leadership experience with the ability to build a cohesive team with a common goal
  • Demonstrated ability to delegate tasks and organise teams
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment (desired)
  • Strong commitment to meeting customer requirements
  • Excellent diagnostic and repair skills and a strong commitment to service excellence
  • Excellent attitude to your work, and dedication to safe work practice
  • Solutions focused mindset and ability to adapt to changing requirements
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide coordination and leadership to a team of technicians
  • Ensure work orders are completed on time and to a high standard
  • Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment
  • Coordinating the team’s activities to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction and best practice standards, ensuring all company, quality assurance and legal requirement are adhered to
  • Accurately diagnose faults and assist with repairs
