SUMMARY
This job is the leader for the shift management team (Raw, Product Quality, Process, and Packaging) to ensure that facility objectives are met or exceeded at the lowest cost consistent with operating requirements. This will be achieved by gathering information, communicating expectations, and using strong decision-making skills. This job manages and coordinates the activities of the facility to meet operational goals which includes quality, sanitation, food safety, employee safety along with budgeted volumes and controllables. In addition, the incumbent must closely monitor internal information gathering and communications systems to evaluate performance of the facility and team members.
TYPICAL EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
5+ years related experience and/or training
Responsibilities:
- Manages to ensure compliance, fair and consistent administration of the Company policies, procedures and USDA/FDA policies.
- Is responsible for supporting, managing, or implementing Food Safety and Product Quality standards.
- Leads the Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives for the entire Ontario Campus that results in total employee safety and environmental compliance.
- Uses leadership competencies to create a shift team that exceeds expected deliverables (production/volumes, employee relations, budgets, quality, and safety).
- Conducts oneself in a professional manner, ensures confidentiality regarding sensitive issues related to Company and employee issues.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of employee relation issues with utmost professionalism and timeliness.
- Ensure that additional accountabilities as may be required by management be handled in a manner necessary to meet operational goals.
- Manages and coordinates facility activities to ensure performance goals such as quality, sanitation, food safety and grade yield are met or exceeded. Assist with New Product Startups.
- Maintains Metrics/Downtime, SPC and All Production Reporting; drive reduced startup, Assure Accurate Inventory Control Scans.
- Responsible for shift scheduling and overtime.
