Description:

JOB ADVERT SUMMARY

The ideal person will be in possession of at least a N6 or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with a GCC (Factories and Laws) and at least 3- 4 years of relevant experience or is a certificated engineer.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • N6 or equivalent S3 or S4 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Must be in possession of GCC (Both Factories and Laws)
  • Relevant completed Trade Test is essential [3 Phase electrical Trade Test, etc.].
  • A minimum of 3- 4 years of relevant experience or is a certificated engineer.
  • At least 2-3 years relevant management experience.
  • Own transport is essential.
  • Must be willing to relocate to the Free State (Bloemfontein)
  • Relevant knowledge of Ammonia plants and Boiler Machines
  • Extended knowledge of OSH legislation compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for electrical, mechanical, scales, refrigeration, grounds & buildings and Rendering and Boilers plants
  • Planning of maintenance schedules for Plant machinery.
  • Obtaining of quotations and ordering of spares.
  • Controlling and eliminating breakdowns.
  • Ensure optimum water, electricity, and coal consumption.
  • Projects and costing.
  • Continuous improvement
  • Budgeting and financial controls including cost savings.
  • Stock control of engineering equipment
  • Drive HACCP systems for both the processing plant and the Maintenance Department to ensure all-inclusive compliance.
  • Responsible for Health & Safety and accident / incident investigation for the Maintenance Department
  • Adhere to and responsible for all OHS Legislation compliance
  • Management and training of maintenance employees including KPI’s.
  • Minimise plant downtime.
  • Future planning to ensure maximum efficiency of the plant.
  • Asset management.
  • Management of staff, planning and control of maintenance shifts, overtime, and weekend work.
  • Drive root-cause analysis.
