  • Co-ordinate day to day plant operations through shift supervisors and other plant personnel.
  • Approve payroll on a daily and weekly basis.
  • The single point of contact for all health and safety, employee and regulatory concerns.
  • Co-ordinate the processing of incoming recyclable materials in an efficient manner.
  • Protect the safety of workers by verifying work is completed in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Comply with MOL and MOE guidelines.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels for the plant.
  • Prepare production reports, staffing charts and review employee shift hours.
  • Co-ordinate personnel and provide plant leadership and amicable employee relations.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and schedule regular maintenance in co-ordination with the maintenance department.
  • Respond to changes in incoming and outgoing material.
  • Schedule employee training and track training requirements.
  • Schedule shipping of outgoing material.
  • Certified and trained to operate Forklift.
  • Experience operating loader and skid steers.
  • Able to perform the physical requirements of the position.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
  • Must be available for overtime work.
  • Punctual, reliable, team player.
  • Oher duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of post-secondary education, in a related field of business, manufacturing etc.
  • MRF, Waste, industry experience is an asset.
  • Valid forklift license.
  • Previous people management experience an asset.
  • Elevated communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Very high attention to detail in an environment where multi-tasking and a positive outlook is crucial.
  • Willingness to ask questions and seek out answers.
  • Experience and proficiency in using MS Office software – particularly MS Word and PowerPoint – and Adobe, with a demonstrated capability of learning new tools/technology quickly and efficiently.
  • Possess a valid Ontario Provincial Driver’s Licence – G Class.
