POSITION SUMMARY:

Set-up, operate and monitor the CNC Plasma / Laser Cutting Machine. Ensure the manufacturing process and material used meets customer specifications and quality standards. Ensure the equipment and process runs efficiently.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERTISE:

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a CNC Plasma Operator or similar role is preferred.

Technical skills

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Experience and ability to use overhead cranes
  • Knowledge of CNC programming and machine operation.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and precision in work.

Responsibilities:

Machine Setup:

  • Prepare and set up CNC plasma cutting machines according to job specifications.
  • Load materials into the machine, ensuring proper alignment and secure clamping.

Operation:

  • Monitor machine operations to ensure proper cutting and adherence to quality standards.
  • Adjust machine settings as necessary during the cutting process.
  • Inspect finished pieces to verify conformance to specifications.

Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC plasma cutting machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues promptly.

Quality Control:

  • Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet design specifications.
  • Make adjustments to machine settings to address quality issues if necessary.

Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including materials used and machine settings.
  • Report any issues or deviations from specifications to supervisors.
