ABOUT THE JOB

Marid Industries Limited is seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Plasma Pipe cutter to join our team! This is an exciting full-time opportunity for an individual to join our growing team. As part of the Marid team you will work alongside our production, purchasing, and finance teams to ensure we meet project deadlines and deliver exceptional client service.
The Plasma Pipe cutter is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC plasma cutting machines to cut metal pipes and tubes according to precise specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC programming, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail to ensure high-quality cuts and adherence to safety standards.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPEREINCE

Education and Experience:
 High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in machine operation or a related field is preferred.
 Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in operating CNC plasma cutting machines and understanding of CNC programming.
o Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
o Knowledge of metalworking processes and materials.
 Mechanical Aptitude:
o Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
o Basic knowledge of machine maintenance and repair.
 Attention to Detail:
o High level of accuracy in measuring and cutting to ensure quality standards are met.
o Precision in following specifications and maintaining consistency.
 Safety Awareness:
o Knowledge of safety practices related to plasma cutting and machinery operation.
o Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
 Communication:
o Effective verbal and written communication skills.
o Ability to work collaboratively with team members and supervisors

Responsibilities:

  1. Machine Setup and Operation:
    o Set up CNC plasma cutting machines, including loading pipes or tubes and configuring the machine settings.
    o Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine the cutting requirements.
    o Input and adjust CNC programs to match cutting specifications and ensure accurate execution.
  2. Quality Control:
    o Inspect and measure cut pieces to ensure they meet the required tolerances and quality
    standards.
    o Perform routine checks and maintenance on the CNC plasma cutter to ensure optimal
    performance and accuracy.
    o Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the machine, cutting process, or quality of cuts.
  3. Safety and Compliance:
    o Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
    o Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper ventilation in the work area.
    o Follow standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements related to plasma cutting and machinery operation.
  4. Maintenance:
    o Conduct regular maintenance and cleaning of the CNC plasma cutter and related equipment.
    o Replace worn or damaged parts as needed and report any significant mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
  5. Record Keeping:
    o Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine settings, and maintenance activities.
    o Document any issues encountered and the actions taken to resolve them.
  6. Collaboration and Communication:
    o Work closely with other team members, including machinists, welders, and engineers, to
    coordinate production activities.
    o Communicate effectively with supervisors to report progress, issues, and any necessary
    adjustments.
