POSITION SUMMARY
Magellan Aerospace Mississauga has an exciting opportunity for a Plasma Spray Technician. The successful incumbent will be required to perform all of the functions necessary to deposit thermal/wear resistant coatings to metallic/non-metallic articles.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Technical Training / Diploma or like experience in manufacturing environment preferably Aerospace
- Formal training on plasma spray equipment including knowledge and operation of CNC controls
- Extensive knowledge of metal deposition theory
- Periodic recertification / training
- Programming techniques
- Computer skills
- Robotic experience preferable
Responsibilities:
- Prepare parts for process/set up spray gun / assemble tooling
- Plasma spray associated equipment / conduct measurements as required
- Conduct data acquisition / perform the appropriate analysis to confirm the process integrity
- Weigh/ measure appropriate powders
- Conduct systems diagnositics
- Set parameters/ operate the Plasma Spray Process
- Controller/ Robotic Equipment
- Mount & spray test coupons
- Perform daily routine maintenance on equipment as required
- Prepare parts for process & set up spray gun & assemble appropriate tooling for the work
