POSITION SUMMARY

Magellan Aerospace Mississauga has an exciting opportunity for a Plasma Spray Technician. The successful incumbent will be required to perform all of the functions necessary to deposit thermal/wear resistant coatings to metallic/non-metallic articles.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Technical Training / Diploma or like experience in manufacturing environment preferably Aerospace
  • Formal training on plasma spray equipment including knowledge and operation of CNC controls
  • Extensive knowledge of metal deposition theory
  • Periodic recertification / training
  • Programming techniques
  • Computer skills
  • Robotic experience preferable

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare parts for process/set up spray gun / assemble tooling
  • Plasma spray associated equipment / conduct measurements as required
  • Conduct data acquisition / perform the appropriate analysis to confirm the process integrity
  • Weigh/ measure appropriate powders
  • Conduct systems diagnositics
  • Set parameters/ operate the Plasma Spray Process
  • Controller/ Robotic Equipment
  • Mount & spray test coupons
  • Perform daily routine maintenance on equipment as required
  • Prepare parts for process & set up spray gun & assemble appropriate tooling for the work
