Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the Plastic Surgery administration team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
The role will involve supporting the people, processes and performance of the Plastic Surgery Outpatients and Admissions functions. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and be able to work flexibly in order to accommodate change, in line with service development and improvement. The post holder will be a key component in delivering an efficient service to our patients, in line with key Trust and National targets. The primary focus of the role will be inpatient and outpatient scheduling for the Plastic Surgery service. The post holder will be required to work with the existing multidisciplinary team to facilitate and support our patient pathways.
Candidates must possess excellent organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise, problem solve and find solutions, in a busy working environment. Communication is key for this role and it will be expected that the post holder can demonstrate an ability to communicate with patients and staff across all disciplines.

To provide a comprehensive and efficient booking service for all Plastic Surgery patients awaiting elective treatment on the Inpatient, Day-case, and Planned Waiting Lists.
To work with Consultants in order to help manage their waiting lists to ensure it is clean and without historic information
To ensure that admission requests are processed and booked in line with the Trust Access Policy. This requires both timely and accurate input of data onto Cerner and other electronic and paper systems as required.
To ensure patients are treated within target treatment dates
To recognise and correct errors in pathways on Cerner.
To work as part of the Plastic Surgery Admissions team to provide the best possible customer service for patients and colleagues.
To respond to and deal with a variety of often complex booking requests in a timely manner, whether by telephone or in person, ensuring that patients are booked according to clinical priority and the Trust Access Policy taking into account both patients’ choice and the need to ensure that slots are not wasted.
To analyse and troubleshoot effectively in an often challenging and sometimes unpredictable environment.
