Description:

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Not required but technical related training considered an asset.
Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.): Not required. Considered an asset if related to the job.
Experience: 2 years or more with Plastic or Metals Fabrication and Manufacturing preferred. We can start you off at the appropriate task/skill level and grow you from there.
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English. Other languages considered an asset.
Work Setting: General manufacturing and fabrication. Lean manufacturing considered an asset.
Type of Machine Experience: None required but would be an asset. We will train and cross-train as well.
Machining Tools and Machines: CNC table router machines, Drill presses, lathes, CNC Milling machines, Shapers, Single purpose production machines.
Measuring Tools: Micrometers, Calipers, Measuring Tapes.
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

SPECIFIC SKILLS:

Fabrication (machining, cutting, forming, bending, gluing, welding, polishing) of all sorts of Plastics.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
Set up and adjust production machinery and fixtures.
Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance.
Verify dimensions of machined tools and parts using precision measuring instruments.
Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances.
Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AS AN ASSET:

Knowledge of Plastics – types, chemistry, mechanics, pricing.
Experience with Quality Systems.
Lean Manufacturing and Inventory Management.
Shipping/Receiving.
Able to travel off-site for welding and other services as required.
Able to deal face-to-face with Customers.
Can assist / work on Quotes.
Other languages welcomed.

WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:

Environment can be noisy at times - general manufacturing plant environment. Mainly inside but may go off-site and outside at times.
Fast-paced environment with lots of human interaction at times.
Work day may be entirely repetitive for brief periods and entirely variable for other periods. We job rotate to prevent boredom, injuries etc.
Must have can-do attitude and work efficiently while not sacrificing safety or quality at any time.
