Responsibilities:
ROLE OBJECTIVE
Works within a platform squad to maintain and improve Kooth’s cloud infrastructure and tooling. Understands the business and makes technical and/or delivery decisions based on its direction.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Designing, implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure across Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services, using Terraform and good Infrastructure-as-Code practices
- Developing and maintaining tools and shared libraries to maximise reliability and observability of the software and services we run, using Node.js as the primary language
- Supporting software engineers with tasks and investigations involving infrastructure and during incidents
- Advise and consult with other squads on cloud infrastructure and reliability matters to help them maximise their impact
- Uphold and implement compliance and security best practices
- Leveraging best practices in continuous integration and delivery to drive an experimentation-based learning culture and iterate on product objectives
- Collaborating across disciplines to build effective working relationships, solve challenging problems for our users, and drive positive business outcomes
- Working with engineering leadership to create an empowered, ambitious and diverse engineering culture with a strong care for craft
- Participating in an off-hours on-call rotation to support the ongoing reliable operation of our systems.
