Job Description
As a Platform Engineer and Consultant at NCS Australia, you’ll play a crucial role in driving innovation and helping our clients get the most from their technology landscape. The engineer will work with cloud-native technologies and automation frameworks to ensure platform security and reliability.
You will develop and maintain infrastructure and automation pipelines, design and build scalable APIs. You will manage GCP & AWS cloud infra. You will Work with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes through to Implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, ArgoCD, and GitOps practices.
You’ll leverage your problem-solving skills to help clients build and modernise their applications while also shaping requirements, designing and deploying solutions, and setting up effective engineering and quality practices.
Beyond your technical expertise, you’ll also provide valuable advice to clients on how to upskill their teams and achieve outstanding outcomes. Qualifications
- Cloud Platforms: In-depth experience with AWS (VPC, EC2, ECS Route53, S3, CloudFormation, APIs, SDKs), with a working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform.
- Infrastructure Orchestration: Proficiency with software-defined infrastructure orchestration tools like SaltStack or Terraform.
- Containerisation: Experience with immutable architectures and containerisation technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, LXC, OpenVZ, or Xen.
- Configuration Management: Expertise with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
- Version Control: Proficiency in using distributed version control systems like Git.
- ArgoCD is highly desirable
- Programming: Proficiency in at least one programming language (Go /Python) for API Development
- Familiarity with Cloud Native technologies (e.g., OPA/Gatekeeper, Prometheus, HashiCorp Vault).
- Continuous Integration/Deployment: Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools like Argo CD Jenkins or Bamboo etc
- Automation: Experience with Cloud SQL and automation using Python, Go, or Bash
- System Administration: Linux/Unix system administration experience.
- A strong understanding of networking concepts and security best practices would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with Istio, Cilium, Kyverno, and other security tools.
- Good problem solving attitude.
