The Financial Services Solutions (FSS) domain develop and maintain the Bank of England’s financial and integration platforms to facilitate payments, settlement and collateral management across the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities:

SUMMARY OF ROLE

As a leader within Financial Systems Solutions (FSS), you will be a people first leader. Servant to empowering your people to perform at their best, leading inclusively and valuing diversity. You will role model the Bank behaviours and demonstrate good and developing leadership competencies.
You will develop your direct reports by sharing information effectively, providing coaching, and shaping and communicating work plans clearly to ensure that your staff are productive, engaged and motivated to deliver.
Lead a team responsible for three domain products.

A member of the domain leadership team and contribute to the domain strategy and drive actions to deliver.

Detailed Description of the Role:

  • Develop, nurture and motivate the individual talent on the team and collectively develop the team as a whole to assure they have the skills to meet the demands on them.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the team ensuring the balance of meeting team commitments are met against any operational demands within your responsibilities.
  • Size the team according to demand, raising when commitments cannot be met including monitoring and controlling team accurate time-recording.
  • Recruit and manage both permanent and consultant resources.
  • Collaborate with Service functions to ensure that the team understand and follow the service processes (based on ITIL) in order to deliver great service to colleagues.
  • Collaborate with security colleagues and assure the team know, understand and deliver to the security standards.
  • Maintain a high level of focus on continuous improvement, always aiming to increase delivery efficiency, operational excellence and financial efficiency with respect to running your team.
  • Work effectively with collaborators across the Bank, fostering strong relationships and providing an excellent representation of Technology.
  • Be an influencer at team level and domain.

Job Requirements

This role offers a salary of £51,870 - £59,850. In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below:

  • A non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/95th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/50th) or decrease (to 1/120th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year.
  • A discretionary performance award based on a current award pool.
  • A 8% benefits allowance with the option to take as salary or purchase a wide range of flexible benefits.
