JOB TITLE: Platform Site Reliability Engineer

SALARY: £45,954 - £51,060

LOCATION(S): Leeds, Halifax, Manchester
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: At least two days per week (or 40% of your time) at one of our offices listed above.
About this opportunity
The Cloud Platform team is on the journey to create the next generation technical platform for Lloyds Banking Group that will be at the core of one of the UK’s biggest financial service transformations. We’re looking for a Platform SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) to join our Public Cloud SRE team within the Cloud Platform.
As a Cloud SRE you’ll be an active member of a cloud-focused team of engineers working on the front-line support for the banks GCP and Azure (depending on your skills and experience) Public Cloud platforms.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain, support & improve our Public Cloud platforms using SRE principles including some 24x7 standby requirements.
  • Triage and complete Service requests.
  • Investigate, fix and remove service issues with an engineering mentality.
  • Implement further automation and reduce toil, utilising new & existing Cloud products.
  • Contribute to a backlog of Operational Service improvements.
  • Work closely with other SRE colleagues and product teams across different locations to build a tight cohesive operational unit.

What you’ll need:

  • Good understanding of GCP and/or Azure services.
  • To be experienced at solving problems and troubleshooting, fixing and resolving issues.
  • Experience working with a broad set of Public Cloud technologies and services.
  • Demonstrate a passion to continue to learn and develop your engineering skills.
  • Experience in working within an operations team or front-line support.
