We are currently seeking a PLC & Control Production Technician .There are immediate advancement opportunities for those with the desire, the initiative, and that perform above expectations.This position requires the ability to (this is not a complete job description):
The PLC & Controls Production Technician position is responsible for providing technical support and configuration of manufacturing equipment. The incumbent will also develop and implement new processes and procedures, as well as continuously work on existing processes to reduce cost and improve quality. Must have the ability to collaborate with multiple teams including plant maintenance, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and safety. This position requires understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, process automation, and lean manufacturing principles. Must be able to collect and analyze data, develop standard operating procedures, and train others.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Preferred (but not required) two or more years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Understanding of Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Automation Direct PLC’s
- Understanding of electrical systems including AC and servo drives, networking, control wiring, motor starters, relays, VFD’s, switches and sensors, circuit breakers, terminal blocks and transformers
- Understanding of Allen Bradley and Automation Direct HMI’s
- Preferred (but not required) understanding of robotics, and vision systems.
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent math, time management and organizational skills
- Must be very detail oriented and accurate in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to learn and understand new systems and technologies.
- Excellent computer skills with office applications
- Preferred (but not required) understanding of electronic systems and programming languages.
- Preferred (but not required) bi-lingual (Spanish)
- Pass drug screen and meet acceptable criminal background requirements.
- Demonstrated attitude of safety and quality as top priorities
- Ability to work overtime schedules including weekends when needed.
- Technical training and/or experience in the areas of Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing. Highschool Diploma.
- Requires Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Preferred (but not required) AutoCAD, MS Access
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, World Class Manufacturing or Toyota Production System
- Other skills and hands-on experience are a plus.

Responsibilities:
- Understand Apache’s manufacturing, quality, and safety processes
- Develop equipment controls and specifications.
- Troubleshoot existing control systems
- Install and configure equipment and devices.
- Configuration and support of instrumented and automated equipment
- Manage equipment settings and recipes
- Develop procedures and training materials. Lead training sessions.
- Suggest process improvements and work with engineering to develop implementation plans.
- Work with engineering and maintenance on equipment installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Participate, learn, and train in any innovative technologies and processes as required.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies and procedures.
- Perform other assignments as requested, or as business needs require.
