Description:
Responsibilities:
- To carry out all aspects of mechanical work in the hospital as assigned
- To be available on a rota basis to carry out on call duties, one week in three.
- To take control of all work and duties assigned to him/her.
- To be responsible for the maintenance / installation of equipment and plant and to arrange such supplies and materials as necessary for the execution of all work.
- To perform work on an overtime basis within reasonable limits as may be required from time to time.
- To perform the duties of mechanical crafts person in any hospital department or at such other locations as may be required by the Beaumont Hospital
- To maintain a satisfactory standard of work
- To report to immediate supervisor on any irregularities that might adversely affect the performance of assigned duties.
- To be willing to report to the hospital outside of normal hours for emergency duty
- To perform such duties appropriate to his trade as may be assigned by the Technical Services Manager or other persons as may be assigned by the Beaumont Hospital Board.
- To maintain such records and systems as may be required including permits and inspection logs and ensure that all documentation within the department is completed satisfactorily and effeciently.
- Attend to the maintenance and routine repairs of all mechanical services, plant and equipment. This shall include installation, maintenance/preventative maintenance and repairs of heating ventilation and air-conditioning systems medical gas pipeline systems.
- Operate and carry out planned preventative maintenance programmes as set out by the Mechanical Engineering Manager, Foreman or delegated person.
- Carry out other associated trade duties.
- Operate and work with new technology and provide and maintain such written and computerised records, as required from time to time.
- Liaise with outside contractors, as required.
- Operate within existing productivity agreements.
- Be accountable for all tools, stock or equipment under his control and to ensure that all such equipment is kept in the proper state of repair in accordance with safety standards
