Description:

As a member of the Point of Care Testing (POCT), you will contribute to the day to day delivery of the POCT service with specific responsibilities for equipment and reagent management, audits and supporting service users.
You will also be responsible for delivering training to users of POCT equipment and the monitoring of those delivering training in a cascade capacity.
Responsible to and in liaison with the POCT Manager, to provide a high quality service that builds on the UKAS ISO standards. The post holder will be expected to develop and maintain close working relationships with all grades of staff both in the team and in the wider Trust to ensure the effective delivery of the service.
Applications are invited from individuals who are confident, motivated, energetic with some IT experience and excellent communication skills to work in our Point of Care Testing (POCT) team that support over 170 devices across the Trust. Diagnostic tests are performed on these devices and the Team are responsible for ensuring accurate high quality results through quality control, training and support to the clinical teams that use them.
The role will involve working as part of the team to perform a range of tasks that contribute to the smooth running of the POCT devices including: Quality Assurance, completion of audits, usage, system administration, data handling, reagent management, device maintenance and stock management. The successful candidate will be able to develop excellent work relationships with the clinical team and colleagues in POCT team, work equally well with others as independently and have good problem solving skills.
