SEROCU investigations conduct proactive covert activity in pursuit of the disruption of Organised Crime Groups operating within the South East - primarily the investigation of serious and complex organised and cross-border crime.
As part of the SEROCU investigative team, you will support both covert and overt operational deployments and investigate SOC through the use of intelligence, reactive and proactive policing tactics, including search and arrest operations.
You will also assist in progressing our investigations in respect of offenders arrested by SE ROCU and can expect to be used in supporting roles to the OIC of the investigation.
You will also deploy as a surveillance operative on behalf of SEROCU and will be specialist surveillance support to investigations, including being ‘on-call’ for regional surveillance capability.
Whilst a background in covert investigations and practical experience undertaking covert and overt investigations is desirable, it is certainly not essential as all relevant training will be conducted once in post.
This specific role will be based in Fareham, however, we welcome applications from candidates who are interested in postings in Reading and Crawley as we would like to build a dynamic pool of candidates who will be the first to know about the exciting PC opportunities within the Investigations team, as they arise.
Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary for the successful candidate to obtain and maintain vetting level SC. In order to achieve this, you must have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
You can find more information about security vetting here.

PLEASE NOTE A PRE-SELECT ASSESSMENT WILL BE REQUIRED FOR SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES WHOM DO NOT CURRENTLY HOLD A Q1 QUALIFICATION OR CURRENT/VALID PRE-SELECT PASS.

If you wish to apply you need to have support from your Head of Command / Department.

These steps must be completed prior to submission application. If your application for an opportunity is not approved prior to submission to the recruiting organisation you may not be supported for release to the role, should you be successful.

Please upload your latest PDR (or if no PDR, a recent copy of your CPD record/Focus Feedback meeting) and a copy of your Training Record. Please also upload the Recommendation for Appointment Form (enclosed with the Job Advert) in the ‘Line Managers Approval Form’.
