POLICE OFFICER - CENTRAL CAMPUS

PRIMARY FUNCTION: This is the non-supervisory, entry-level position for sworn law enforcement officers, who will ensure the safety and welfare of all students, faculty, staff and visitors, maintain peace and order while enforcing College rules, regulations, state and federal laws, and provide law enforcement protection and related services for the San Jacinto College Campuses (North, Central, South, Generation Park and Maritime).

REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Must be 21 years of age, and a U.S. citizen.
• Must have a current Texas Peace Officer License issued by TCOLE

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Must meet the following criteria:
• Demonstrated leadership, communication and critical decision making skills in a law enforcement environment relevant to San Jacinto College.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Meet the following experience and education requirements:
• A high school diploma or equivalent, and
• Successful completion of TCOLE peace officer certification

NOTE: THE DUTIES OF THIS POSITION REQUIRE A PHYSICAL PRESENCE AT THE ASSIGNED ON-SITE WORK LOCATION DURING UNRESTRICTED OPERATIONS WITH NO OPPORTUNITY FOR REMOTE WORK ARRANGEMENTS.

Salary Grade: 21
