Reporting to the Senior Policy Advisor, the Advisor, Policy and Regulatory is responsible for supporting the assessment of potential impacts from various public policy, regulatory and related market issues on EnPower’s growth strategy and operations, with a focus on electricity policy, regulation and markets both within and outside of Alberta

Responsibilities:

Monitor, keep informed of and understand upcoming policy changes, emerging regulations, engagement opportunities, and changing political trends and public sentiment affecting EnPower’s growth strategies in relevant jurisdictions.
Evaluate and communicate policy and regulatory impacts on EnPower’s projects and growth strategy, including identification of regulatory or policy risks and opportunities in the provincial, national and global policy context.
Support the development of policy and regulatory advocacy positions on emerging government or regulatory initiatives, relevant activities and applications to the AUC, initiatives and engagements of the AESO, and relevant authorities in other jurisdictions of strategic interest to EnPower’s business activities.
Evaluate and incorporate commercial and technical limitations or needs in support of various growth strategies or opportunities in the development of these positions.
Effectively communicate with various stakeholders and industry associations to progress EnPower’s development activities
Facilitate internal collaboration and alignment of positions in respect of EnPower’s strategies, providing solutions that progress EnPower’s short and long-term growth initiatives and ensuring conflicts of interest between strategic growth areas are identified
