Description:

With the launch of the Women’s Health Strategy in July 2022, Dept of Health (DH) has tasked NHS England to deliver specific policy related commitments and provided funding of £1.2m for the period ending 31 March 2025 to resource and deliver the programme. Please note that this is a time limited programme/project.
Supporting the policy team in the WH programme to develop appropriate policies.
This post will support the Senior Policy Advisor in the provision of strategic, managerial and administrative services to Women’s Health team to provide support, developing and implementing policy and processes and providing specialist, expert advice
The post holder will work as part of the team in delivering an effective service through the provision of strategic development and day to day management of the directorate policy development functions, to enable the team to operate effectively and deliver their priorities.
The post holder will work as part of the Womens Health Team team delivering an efficient and effective Policy Management Support Service, supporting managers and staff to ensure that their work stream of activities are planned and managed effectively and take the lead in assisting in their successful delivery.
Manage the team’s policy support function, including developing and managing the team’s policy plan, progress and reporting risk and issue management.
Ensure timely and accurate information analysis and reporting to
management on agreed areas of work.
Liaise with appropriate functions and key stakeholders of the business.
Maintain constructive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
Working with the Senior Policy Advisor and Business Operations to contribute relevant information to support team and corporate requirements.
Manage the regular cycle of reporting to the team, Boards and other programme/project related bodies

The NHS health and care system cares for all and 51% of the population face obstacles when it comes to access care. In 2014 the chief medical officers annual report – The health of 51% women, they identified the widening disparities for girls and women during their adolescent, reproductive and post reproductive years.
These issues remain relevant today. The DHSC published the first Womens Health Strategy for England in August 2022.

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement and contribute to any content management system to ensure information is properly managed and best practice is shared across the team, directorate and the wider NHS organisation.
Liaise with appropriate functions and key stakeholders of the business.
Work with members of the team to investigate the causes of any variance from plan and proactively contribute to the implementation of solutions.
Management of tracking mechanism and the resolution and escalation processes.
Contribute to performance improvement; taking a lead for identified areas; complex audits or surveys, and prioritise improvement activities across the directorate.
Maintain strong links with directorates using tact, negotiation and influencing skills to facilitate the development of effective networks / working groups / projects and the delivery of their key objectives.
Produce material for and present complex presentations which are engaging, influential and effective in delivering key messages, the content of which may include highly complex technical, contentious or very sensitive information.
Contribute to the development of key performance indicators.
Contribute to short, medium and long term business plan
