Description:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Expertise in a relevant discipline (BSc. In Life Sciences, Registered Respiratory Therapist, Registered EEG Technologist, Registered Nurse).
  • Registered with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT) – or eligible for certification.
  • Receipt of training in polysomnography, nasal CPAP and bi-level positive airway pressure in an ADP registered sleep laboratory.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Highly motivated individual who exhibits a high degree of initiative.
  • Requires little direct supervision with ability to function independently.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform various diagnostic testing, which include complete diagnostic sleep studies including polysomnography, nasal CPAP & Bi-level titration and other related diagnostic tests.
  • Perform in-service education such as providing clinical training, education to hospital personnel, and acting as a resource person on various aspects of Polysomnographer.
  • Provide patient education regarding the use of home oxygen and therapy equipment.
  • Carry out all administrative work associated with various inpatient and outpatient diagnostic procedures.
  • Re-assess patients requiring various sleep adjuncts and suggest alternatives to the physician.
  • Demonstrate QCH values: collaboration, accountability, innovation, respect.
