    This role is responsible for following pour/mould requirements within the manufacturing polyurethane department. Safety first mindset is essential along with the ability to follow drawing and polyurethane specifications for casting.

Job Responsibilities –

  • Cleaning moulds to get ready for pours/casting
  • Prepping and casting of urethane
  • Preparation of inserts and single pack spraying
  • Chemical handling and preparation
  • Maintain a commitment to Safety and Quality by following FLSmidth Quality Policies and Procedures
  • Review of job traveller to ensure task at hand is understood
  • Selection of moulds and apertures prior to pours to ensure First Time Quality is achieved
  • Ability to use and handle battery operated hand tools
  • Understanding the importance of following schedules
  • Pouring/casting and demoulding of Panels
  • Understanding of polyurethane/chemicals and mixing processes
  • Cleaning moulds to get ready for pours/casting
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving ability
  • Preparation of inserts including single pack spraying
  • Adheres to Inventory accuracy requirements
  • Trimming and use of scalpel and bladed knives
  • Conduct visual checks of goods to ensure quality assurance
  • Experienced utilizing ERP database systems i.e. Pronto, SAP, Epicor or similar systems.

What you bring –

  • A genuine desire to learn on and off-the-job aspects of the position, workplace and company
  • Hands on experience with the safe handling of polyurethane and chemicals
  • Prior knowledge of Polyurethane mixing machines
  • Relevant qualifications and certificates in polyurethane is desirable
  • Forklift license with previous experience is highly regarded
  • Demonstrated Industry and Product knowledge of polyurethane processing
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy especially when reviewing drawing and specification for finished goods
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills in order to work with the team
  • Quality Conscience, knowledge of ISO 9001 an advantage.
  • Ability to be read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Team player
  • Computer literate with an intermediate Level of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Good organisation, multitasking and time management skills that delivers effective planning and housekeeping standards.
  • Ability to plan work effectively and efficiently with a minimum of supervision and set priorities for own personal goals.
