Description:

SUMMARY:

The Population Health Analytics IT Supervisor will be a senior data analyst or engineer who will be an active contributor on projects, while simultaneously ensuring and overseeing the highest quality of work from staff who directly report to them. The IT Supervisor oversees operational activities, and daily work assignments of staff, as well as ensuring that appropriate
resources are available to meet the needs of projects focused on required organizational goals and objectives. This position will primarily focus on the delivery of reporting and analytics from Oracle Health’s Data Intelligence Platform. Foundationally, the platform is an enterprise data warehouse that feeds data into the Oracle Health Population Health solutions. These solutions provide actionable insights to clinicians, enabling Baystate Health’s mission of caring for the patients we serve. Increasingly, the Data Intelligence Platform will become a central warehouse for clinical reporting. Experience with SQL and Tableau is essential.
The Supervisor will partner with project managers, business partners, vendors, and other stakeholders on projects that require his/her team’s involvement. S/He will ensure that these projects are managed towards success, while still maintaining day-to-day operations for which her/his team is responsible. The Supervisor will also recommend and assist in the development and management of operational and capital budgets annually. The candidate will proactively evaluate and implement team processes and procedures that optimize team productivity through training, coaching, planning, and oversight of day-to-day operations. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that his/her team is properly managed and directed toward the goals and objectives of the organization. The Supervisor will report to the Manager of IT. The incumbent will work closely with other peer Supervisors from within and outside of IT. Adheres to system and department compliance policies, and any and all applicable laws and regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Provides supervision, leadership and guidance for the a team of IT professionals. Promotes and encourages staff to provide great customer service to all technology users, both internal and external.
  2. Oversees the IT operations and day-to-day tasks of his/her team’s IT portfolio.
  3. Designs system solutions to operational issues and meets the needs of technology users.
  4. Work with clinical and/or business partners on products and technologies already in production for maintenance, enhancement, optimizations, etc.
  5. Continues to improve operations through process improvement and staff performance management.
  6. Proactively evaluates and implements team processes and procedures to optimize team productivity.
  7. Defines and maintains policies and procedures for developing proper support procedures for hardware, software and/or infrastructure.
  8. Develops, reviews, and tracks service level agreements on a regular basis to continually increase user satisfaction.
  9. Provides career conversations, on-time performance reviews and technical direction for direct staff.
  10. Interacts with other IT Supervisors to resolve difficult technical issues. Works with other Supervisors and departments to optimize project deliverables.
  11. Performs personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, promotions, performance appraisals, timesheets, disciplinary, transfers, and vacation schedules.
  12. Occasional after-hours and weekend work to perform tasks that cannot be done during business hours. Backs up the Manager for operations or meetings as needed.
  13. May be required to participate in the on-call rotation.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

7 or more years experience in healthcare technology
(preferred), and/or other industry technology. At least 3
years experience managing a team of technical
professionals. Hands-on experience with technology
strongly preferred.
