Thompsons Solicitors are currently looking for a Portal Paralegal to join us in our team based in Sheffield. If you think you are the type of person who would thrive working in a busy and rewarding environment, where no previous experience is required, this may be the role for you. This is a perfect role for someone who might be looking to transition to the legal sector as well as having a passion for helping people, as you will be managing a full case load of clients with relevant supervision, training and coaching. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

  • This role requires strong organisational skills and the ability to work methodically in order to manage several cases at any one time.
  • A keen eye for detail along with outstanding communication and client care skills are key.
  • An appetite for working within a high performance environment.
  • An aptitude to learn, grow and develop

Responsibilities:

  • Working in our Sheffield office – you will initially be based onsite to support with your training however following this you will be eligible for hybrid working set up.
  • Primarily liaising with clients at different stages of their claim, you will be responsible for managing those portal cases including: Road traffic accidents, employer and public liability.
  • Day-to-day: Taking enquiries, managing clients via telephone and email – you will need to be confident in liaising with clients via all methods of communication.
  • Following conversations with clients you will also need to instruct medical experts, compile medical records, take witness statements, gather loss of earnings details and evidence of other financial losses. – The role is to acquire evidence of injuries and losses on those cases where liability has been admitted.
  • It is important that you manage client expectations and take ownership and accountability for your own case load.
  • Comprehensive training and ongoing supervision will be provided to ensure success in the role.
