Description:

Mō te tūranga | About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager Portfolio Insights, you will oversee the collection, analysis and presentation of data to inform Risk management (internal stakeholders) as well as external stakeholders. This role is crucial in transforming raw data into valuable insights that drive business efficiencies and better risk management.

Some of the key deliverables are:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Analysts
  • Manage the Portfolio Insights team’s workload and delivery of regular reporting on key credit risk performance indicators, lead and manage team-initiated report development, and organisational report requirements.
  • Develop subject matter expertise on credit risk and Westpac NZ portfolios.
  • Assist and provide guidance on dashboard creation and the maintenance of existing risk reports.
  • Review and approve risk reports for production release.
  • Ensure all reports are delivered to the highest standard, including the use of documentation and automation.
  • Guide and encourage best practice with reporting tools such as SAS, MS Excel and Power BI.
  • Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and culture of learning within the team.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

  • 5+ years’ experience in credit risk reporting or quantitative analysis related functions, including experience as a people leader.
  • Exceptional numerical analysis, logical and interpretative skills (essential).
  • Strong SAS (Enterprise Guide) and/or SQL computer language experience, including ability to query and manipulate large data (essential).
  • Advanced user of analytical functions within Excel.
  • Preferred experience using data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SAS Visual Analytics.
  • Highly developed analytical and report building skills.
  • Self-driven to deliver the best possible results for the organisation.
  • A determination for industry-leading performance and constant improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across the business.
