Our client, Aspen Insurance, is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager and PM Practice Lead to join their team in London. This role is pivotal in supporting Aspen’s growth and operational excellence as they transition into a more tech and data-led organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and managing a team that delivers Aspen’s change portfolio, assuring all aspects of projects and business change are managed effectively.

  • Lead the delivery of Aspen’s change portfolio
  • Build and manage a high-performing change management practice

What you’ll do:

As a Portfolio Manager and PM Practice Lead at Aspen Insurance, you will play a crucial role in driving the company’s operations strategy. Your primary responsibility will be to build and manage a team that delivers Aspen’s change portfolio. You will ensure that all aspects of projects, business change, technology, and data outputs are managed effectively. Additionally, you will focus on creating a project delivery practice that adheres to common standards for project delivery at Aspen. Your role will also involve supporting leadership in planning and delivering strategic priorities through change.

  • Assure the efficacy of project plans and portfolio governance
  • Manage portfolio progress through benefits tracking and return on investment (ROI)
  • Create a cross-functional project management community of practice
  • Build strong relationships with sponsors and other change stakeholders
  • Support enterprise PMO with monthly reporting and MI
  • Champion active demand management and resource forecasting

You have a proven track record in delivering technology-enabled projects. Your ability to work effectively with sponsors and project teams sets you apart, as does your knack for applying appropriate delivery processes, understanding business problems, and validating proposed solutions. Your strong relationship management skills enable you to engage stakeholders effectively.

  • Strong background in change delivery and portfolio office management
  • Extensive knowledge of project management governance and portfolio assurance

  • Industry experience
  • Ability to work with sponsors and project teams in applying appropriate delivery process
