Portworx Site Reliability Engineer (UK Based)

CMK Resources is looking for a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support our partner in London and their client. This role is focused on upgrading and managing an existing Portworx environment integrated with Upstream Kubernetes v.4, running on Dell PowerMax storage.
As the SRE, you will be responsible not only for the successful upgrade of the current Portworx environment but also for its continued operations, ensuring the stability and performance of their infrastructure. You’ll work across cloud platforms, virtualization tools like VMware, and automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform, utilizing your expertise to drive efficiency and operational excellence.

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or DevOps Engineer.
• Portworx expertise, including upgrading and day-to-day management of the platform.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes (preferably Upstream Kubernetes v.4).
• Solid knowledge of Linux and Command Line Interface (CLI).
• Storage experience, ideally with Dell PowerMax.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, VMware, and IaaS platforms.
• Proficiency with automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and related tools.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work proactively and prioritize technical tasks effectively.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience with other storage platforms or technologies.
• Knowledge of additional infrastructure automation tools and best practices.

• Act as the Portworx SME for ongoing, day-to-day operations, providing technical guidance and support.
• Manage and maintain Kubernetes environments, with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Support storage infrastructure, specifically Dell PowerMax, ensuring seamless integration with Portworx.
• Oversee infrastructure as a service (IaaS), cloud operations, and virtualization environments, particularly VMware.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools like Ansible and Terraform.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployments and updates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across multiple infrastructure layers, including Linux, CLI, and storage systems.
