Overview:
Hexagon’s Autonomy & Positioning division, is looking for a Positioning Services Intern to join our high-tech engineering and manufacturing company for the period of May 05 2025 to April 30 2026. Using the global reference station network data to achieve centimeter-level positioning by estimating satellite and regional errors, you will assist to develop and test the positioning services software from end-to-end. In this position, you will learn about the error sources that impact GNSS satellites and their signals. You will have the opportunity to work with both the network processing team to generate corrections, and work with the positioning engine team to use those corrections. Our industry-leading correction services are broadcast via satellite and TCP/IP and used by marine, agricultural and automotive industries. The Location: Hexagon is a global company with offices around the world. This position is based in Calgary, Alberta.
Responsibilities:

As our Positioning Services Intern, responsibilities include:

  • Work with industry-leading experts to collect data for investigation into existing and new technologies.
  • Analyze performance and functional data using statistical and graphical analysis.
  • Perform both formal testing and exploratory testing; as well as update documentation to create system knowledge and enhance product robustness.
  • Assist with development and test of end-to-end positioning services software from correction computation to positioning.
  • Assessing GNSS positioning performance of an end-to-end positioning solutions.
  • Troubleshoot failures and investigate issues.
  • Development of tools and utilities to analyse and visualize positioning and correction performance.
  • Management of development environments, correction and monitoring software installation, maintenance and monitoring.
  • Document test design, specification, runs, results, and compliance to requirements.
