About the role | He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga
As a Positive Behaviour Support Planner, you will be responsible for providing support to people with disabilities, and their family/whanau, to enable them to live independent lives by developing and maintaining positive behaviour. You will provide training and coaching to Support Workers to use effective strategies to promote positive behaviours and quality of life for those we support.
This is a part-time position with 20 hours per week.
To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for utilising your previous experience within the mental health, disability or education sector to provide support and training. You’ll thrive in a role where no two days are ever the same and you see different tasks as challenges that will build healthier, happier communities. Getting stuck in is in the nature of the team, and you’ll get plenty of support, guidance and fun in return.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing positive behaviour support coaching, resources and on the spot observations to the service team to better the lives of the people we work with
- Assisting with the development and implementation of safety plans and behaviour support plans for people we support, as required.
- Engaging with the people we support, their family/whanau and support networks, to ensure that their safety and quality of life is improved, and the safety and effectiveness of our support workers is protected.
- Working closely with Service Delivery colleagues in your area to provide integrated disability and healthcare services to the people we support.
- Achieving service delivery standards and quality performance indicators for your services
