Job Summary
This is a Peri/Post CCT Advanced Colorectal Surgical Fellow position designed to deliver advanced surgical training in all aspects of colorectal surgery. The majority of the postholders time will be spent in the Operating Room under close supervision of the colorectal consultants, to enable the postholder to take up a position as a consultant colorectal surgeon within a tertiary unit in the UK.
An ideal candidate would be on the GMC Specialist Register in General Surgery or at least be FRCS or equivalent.

The Department of Colorectal Surgery consists of leading Colorectal Surgeons mainly drawn from tertiary centres across London. Currently there are 12 consultants working within the department.

The focus of the post will be exposure to operative training. The department offers all aspects of colorectal surgery including

  • Complex colorectal cancer (incl HIPEC),
  • IBD surgery,
  • Multidisciplinary pelvic floor surgery,
  • Sacral Neuromodulation
  • Robotic surgery
  • Complex abdominal wall reconstruction
