REQUIRED EDUCATION

Doctoral Degree in the appropriate field or discipline, or the recognized terminal degree.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • In-depth knowledge of specialized field, process or discipline.
  • May require experience with specialized software programs.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED

Experiences in the field of pain and inflammation research are ideal.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should have at least 5 years’ experience in the following techniques:
  • DNA (genomic and plasmid) isolation and purification, restriction enzyme and digestion of DNA, agarose gel electrophoresis of nucleotide, southern blot analysis, radiolabeling of nucleotide (Nick-translation and random-primed labeling techniques), non-radiolabeling of nucleotide, genomic DNA and cDNA library construction, molecule cloning and subcloning, library screening techniques, DNA sequences, RNA isolation and mRNA purification, cDNA synthesis, PCR and RT-PCR, construction of recombinant DNA molecules, cell transformation, 3’RACE system, primer extension, northern blots, in situ hybridization, RNA protection assay.
  • The candidate should also have experience with protein assay such as Western blot, ELISA, immunoprecipition, equilibrium binding test, SDS-PAGE analysis of protein, cell culture, immunohistochemistry.
