REQUIRED EDUCATION
A Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology and Molecular Biology or related disciplines.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated expertise in transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics analyses and various pipelines.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED
- Solid understanding of bioinformatics and molecular biology tools
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
Responsibilities:
- Engineer clostridia strains with enhanced titer, rate, and yield (TRY) using genome engineering. Assist in project management.
- Conducting independent laboratory and bioinformatics analyses.
- Prepare and present of progress reports for the funding agencies.
- Mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
- Gather and analyze data and develop new ideas that promote current research.
