QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ph.D. in Robotics, Soft Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive expertise in soft robotics, with a focus on soft actuator design and fabrication.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling.
  • Experience and knowledge of 3D printing and fast prototyping techniques.
  • Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving attitude.
  • Excellent teamwork capabilities.
  • Ability to properly report, organize, and publish research data.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Experience or interest in bio-inspired design and soft robotics.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and international team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a motivated candidate to join our team in the design and development of novel soft robotic systems. This role will involve:

  • Designing and developing soft robotic solutions inspired by plant roots and earthworms.
  • Investigating novel designs of actuation mechanisms for integrated functional design.
  • Enabling multi-modal, adaptive movements for enhanced system maneuverability in impeded environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducting theoretical and hands-on research.
  • Developing application-driven robotic solutions for soil exploration and monitoring.
  • Collaborating with a team of experts, including mechanical and electronic engineers, chemists, and environmental scientists.
  • Preparing and contributing to scientific publications.
