QUALIFICATIONS
- Ph.D. in Robotics, Soft Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive expertise in soft robotics, with a focus on soft actuator design and fabrication.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling.
- Experience and knowledge of 3D printing and fast prototyping techniques.
- Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving attitude.
- Excellent teamwork capabilities.
- Ability to properly report, organize, and publish research data.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Experience or interest in bio-inspired design and soft robotics.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and international team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities:
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a motivated candidate to join our team in the design and development of novel soft robotic systems. This role will involve:
- Designing and developing soft robotic solutions inspired by plant roots and earthworms.
- Investigating novel designs of actuation mechanisms for integrated functional design.
- Enabling multi-modal, adaptive movements for enhanced system maneuverability in impeded environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducting theoretical and hands-on research.
- Developing application-driven robotic solutions for soil exploration and monitoring.
- Collaborating with a team of experts, including mechanical and electronic engineers, chemists, and environmental scientists.
- Preparing and contributing to scientific publications.
