• At least 70% of your assignment will be spent on academic research in the field of machine learning.
  The BioML research group of the Department of Data Analysis and Mathematical Modelling focusses on the development of machine learning methods for the life sciences. Specific research areas of interest are multi-target prediction, sequence learning, time series analysis, uncertainty quantification and probabilistic models. In terms of applications the focus is on analyzing “omics” data (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, etc.).

The research of the successful candidate should align with one of these research lines to further consolidate it within the research group and to support PhD students whose projects are aligned with one of the research lines.

• You will assist in teaching activities at the Master’s level. You will be the main lecturer for the course Introduction to Data Science
• You will supervise Bachelor students for their Bachelor dissertation.
• You will supervise Master’s students for their Master dissertation
• You will supervise doctoral students as co-supervisor
• You take an active role in securing competitive research funding.
