Description:
DESCRIPTION
The Social Science Experimental Laboratory (SSEL), New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a post-doctoral researcher. The ideal candidate is ambitious, well-trained, self-motivated, hard-working, equally capable of working alone and as part of a team, and holds a PhD in economics or a related field. The position requires expertise in experimental methods. Previous experience conducting social science experimental research (either lab, lab-in-the-field, online, and/or field) is essential. Excellent communication skills in English, scientific creativity, and the desire to work in multidisciplinary teams are also essential.
The successful applicant is expected to publish research in leading peer-reviewed journals in social science (i.e., economics, political science or sociology) or in leading interdisciplinary journals. The position holder is expected to dedicate up to 20% of their time to lab-related tasks and to participate in research collaborations with faculty affiliated with the SSEL. The position holder will join an exceptionally vibrant community of economists, sociologists, and political scientists, doing cutting-age research, exploring the foundations of human behavior, and using theoretical and experimental methods.
The position provides a salary higher than internationally competitive rates for postdoctoral research positions, in addition to substantial benefits (generous housing, transportation and travel allowances, educational subsidies for children), together with full health insurance and retirement contributions. The UAE does not levy income tax.
Appointments will be for two years, renewable for at least an additional year conditional on a satisfactory evaluation of performance.
Review of complete applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. To be considered, applicants must submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a job market paper, a research statement highlighting research experience, and at least three reference letters, all in PDF format. Note that this position is NOT located in the United States. You must be willing to relocate to Abu Dhabi, UAE.
