Description:

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 year in the first instance.
Applications are invited for a post-doctoral research associate to join Dr Jenny Zhang’s team at the Department of Chemistry on a project aimed at accelerating 3D bioelectrode design.
The successful applicant will employ machine-learning guided approaches, including Bayesian optimisation, to aid the development of 3D electrodes. They will be expected to work in multi-disciplinary teams, in particular, they will work closely with experimentalists to guide their experiments.
Applicants should have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in chemistry, materials science, physics or related disciplines. It is essential that the applicant can demonstrate expertise in statistical analytical methods, with experience in bioelectrochemistry, biofilm physiology or theoretical modelling desirable. The candidate will gain experience in using a range of machine learning guided analytical methods, as well as personal development and leadership skills.
