POST GRADUATE TEACHING APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME – CLASS TEACHER

Various Locations Across East Anglia & Northeast London*
Start Date: 6th January 2024
Salary: UQT1 - £21,731
Contract Type: 15 months, temporary position

We are looking for excellent, ambitious graduates to join our Trust with guaranteed training on the Post Graduate Teaching Apprenticeship (PGTA) with the University of Buckingham, resulting in Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) . We offer a range of potential locations around East Anglia and North-East London*. If you live near one of these areas, then we have a school close to you.
Duties and responsibilities to be undertaken with the support of a mentor:

You’re Teaching:

  • Plan and teach well-structured lessons to assigned classes, following the school’s plans, curriculum and schemes of work
  • Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of assigned pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils
  • Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
  • Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils
  • Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
  • Participate in arrangements for preparing pupils for external tests

Your Learning:

  • Attend all University of Buckingham professional learning days and seminars
  • Complete all reflections
  • Complete all directed tasks on time and to a high standard
  • Complete all pedagogical reading
  • Prepare for weekly observations
  • Observe teaching colleagues
  • Prepare for weekly mentor meetings
  • Complete all self-evaluation reports
