REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Ph.D. in genetics, plant breeding, biology, or a related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated record in publishing in high impact journals
• Extensive experience in bioinformatics and data analysis pipelines
• Extensive experience with programming languages (Python, R, or similar)
• Experience in genomics
• Experience with molecular biology lab techniques

Responsibilities:

The Department of Agronomy at Iowa State University invites applications for a Postdoc Research Associate to join Dr. Jianming Yu’s Maize Breeding and Genetics group. The position involves conducting research to understand the genetic, genomic, environmental, and developmental mechanisms underlying phenotypic variation observed for complex traits in crops. Dr. Yu’s research combines genomic technologies with empirical breeding experiments, and team members contribute to both nursery work and bioinformatics analyses. The role offers an opportunity to engage in innovative research and contribute to broad applications in maize breeding.
