SUMMARY
The Lagor laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to study the physiological regulation of cholesterol synthesis in the intestine. The project has two main goals- to determine how cholesterol synthesis controls intestinal stem cell proliferation, and to determine how newly synthesize cholesterol impacts cholesterol excretion. The ideal candidate will have a strong molecular biology and animal physiology skill set. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is interested in pursuing an exciting research career in academic science.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ph.D. in molecular biology, physiology, cell biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- Candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a larger research team.
- Must have strong organizational, record keeping, and time management skills.
- Ideal candidate should have some previous research experience with mouse models.
- Knowledge of lipid metabolism and/or intestinal stem cell biology is preferred, but not required.
Baylor College of Medicine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action/Equal Access Employer.
