Description:
Postdoctoral Fellowship in Mechanisms of Heat Shock-induced Cell Death
A funded postdoctoral fellowship is available in the laboratory of Dr. Shawn B. Bratton at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The project deals with a newly discovered role for the BH3-only protein, Bim, in heat shock-induced cell death. It will be carried out in the Department of Epigenetics and Molecular Carcinogenesis in Houston. The department is one of MD Anderson’s largest and most successful fundamental research departments. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should have a recent Ph.D. degree in biochemistry or a highly related field, one or more first-authored publications in highly regarded scientific journals, and proven proficiency in written and spoken English. Expertise in mammalian cell culture, lentiviral preparation, DNA plasmid cloning, and Western blotting is essential; and priority will be given to those who likewise possess experience in mouse modeling.
