Description:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The successful candidate will have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent in Neuroscience or a related field prior to starting and will have experience in the use of rodent models in neuroscience research.
  • Applicants must be proficient in spoken and written English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Skills include slice electrophysiology, studies of energy balance regulation, mouse husbandry and intracranial stereotaxic surgery in mice.

Location: The lab is located in a vibrant department with a large focus on the study of energy balance regulation, and sits in the heart of the Washington State University Pullman campus. Pullman is a lively college town nestled in the majestic rolling wheat fields of the Palouse region. Outdoor recreation and safe, easy living are highlights of the area.
Position 2 Postdoctoral fellow to study opioid signalling and OUD
Funded position with customizable opportunities to study opioid signaling and opioid use disorder as desired to fit your skills and career goals. The lab has ongoing studies on endogenous opioid production and actions, opioid receptor desensitization, and approaches to interfere with opioid use disorder. The successful applicant will determine which questions and techniques interest them the most and will design a plan to gain the training they desire. The lab is housed in a beautiful state-of-the-art building specifically designed for neuroscience research and is equipped for studies using opto- and chemogenetics, electrophysiology, imaging, molecular and behavioral approaches. The successful candidate will enjoy a casual, collaborative environment with extensive technical and career training opportunities. Previous trainees have had remarkable success in publishing, funding, and landing the jobs they desired be it in academia, science communication, industry or elsewhere.
