Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Department of Neurological Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in traumatic brain injury (TBI). The postdoctoral fellow will work in the laboratory of Dr. Xiang Gao (Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery and SNRI). The Gao lab uses rodent animal brain injury models to study the molecular mechanisms behind the pathological changes post-trauma. A primary goal is the discovery and characterization of new molecule targets for new interventions to treat TBI, through genetics, histological, and RNA-sequencing methods.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Doctorate degree (PhD) or equivalent

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have training in the fields of molecular genetics and/or neurobiology or related fields, and some familiarity with animal handling. Additional experience in imaging and other computational approaches is a plus.
