iClassifier, in collaboration with the Optical Diagnostics Group (ODG) at the University of Alberta and MITACS Canada, is looking for a postdoctoral fellow to join our R&D team in the area of electronics and signal processing. The successful candidate is expected to start ASAP and will conduct industry-related research in smart agricultural product system design and development. The candidate should have experience in electronic circuit design, data transfer from devices to computer systems, and signal processing. Experience with Embedded system design, image processing and working with Linux servers would be an asset.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- PhD degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Signal Processing, or related disciplines.
- Expertise in electronic circuit design and data acquisition systems.
- Experience in data transfer protocols, such as UART, SPI, I2C, or Ethernet.
- Proficiency in signal processing techniques for noise reduction, filtering, and analysis.
- Programming experience in Python for signal analysis and data visualization.
- Understanding of digital and analog electronics and sensor integration.
- A teamwork mindset is essential.
- Working with Git (version control)
Responsibilities:
Work with other engineers on high-impact projects and innovate new solutions to problems in the fields of smart agriculture.
- Develop new data acquisition and signal processing pipelines.
- Design custom algorithms for signal analysis and processing.
- Set up and maintain data transfer systems between electronic devices and computers.
- Communicate effectively and professionally.
- Write progress reports and create technical documentation.
- After-hours work and travelling may be required.
